Inclusivity - Our Recruitment Process
- Requirements – before posting, we carefully evaluate the requirements of the job. Are they all necessary? How can we value different experiences people can bring outside of formal qualifications?
- Standardised applications – we provide clear guidelines on what we expect from applications to ensure we can evaluate candidates fairly
- Posting – we strive to publish the vacancy as broadly as possible and not just in ‘Eurobubble’ circles.
- Shortlisting – All applications are anonymised within our recruitment system until the test phase. This ensures that unconscious bias doesn’t influence our decisions and we can focus on skills and experience.
- Test & Interview Phases – candidates are always invited to flag any accessibility issues so we can adapt to ensure the process allows them to shine. We use standardised questions and scoring to give everyone the best shot. Our recruitment panels are trained on unconscious bias.
If you have any concerns/ questions about how we can best accommodate any your needs in the recruitment process, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Friends of Europe is an independent think tank with a difference. We are passionate about good policymaking. We support a multilateral world in which all levels of governance, the private and civil society sectors, as well as citizens, cooperate to solve common challenges.
