Communications Executive, JDFoE Foundation
Shape Europe’s future as Communications Executive for the One Europe, One Market campaign at JDFoE Foundation, coordinating press, social media and digital content across a landmark European project.

The Jacques Delors Friends of Europe Foundation is a bold investment in Europe’s future. We connect thinkers, leaders and citizens across borders to deliver innovative, pan-European solutions.
We are independent, innovative, multi-disciplinary, non-party political. We fuse bold ideas with civic engagement to accelerate Europe’s response to global challenges.
The JDFoE Foundation is seeking a Communications Executive to support the communications activities of the One Europe, One Market campaign. Reporting to the Campaign Manager, the junior role will be the main point of contact for press and coordinate media engagement around campaign events, manage the Foundation's social media and website content related to the campaign, and organise communications activities across the JDFoE units.
This is an open-ended role, well suited to a junior communications professional with experience in communications and press engagement along with a background in European affairs, looking to play a key role in a strategic European integration project.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Press & Media
• With the support of the wider JDFoE Foundation team, develop and execute media strategies for each capital roadshow event, including targeted outreach to EU-level and national press, preparation of press releases, briefing documents and media packs
• Manage accreditation and on-site press logistics for events; provide real-time media support during events and coordinate rapid response where needed
• Build and maintain a journalist database covering Single Market and EU competitiveness beats, both with EU-focused publications and national journalists
• Monitor media coverage, prepare press reviews after each event and maintain a running record of articles and interviews featuring the Foundation, Enrico Letta and OEOM campaign themes;
• Contribute to wider strategic discussions on media performance
• Monitor the EU legislative and policy calendar, as well as other stakeholders’ communications activity, to identify and plan proactive press moments — including feeding into the drafting of quotes or statements and ensuring their distribution to journalists in advance of or in response to key Commission or Council decisions relevant to the OEOM roadmap
• Coordinate media requests and interview scheduling for key spokespersons in the context of the roadshow, liaising directly with their team and advisors
• With the support of the wider JDFoE Foundation team, develop and maintain a suite of key messages assets for the Foundation, the OEOM roadshow and the Letta report (including key facts and figures), keeping them current with campaign developments and EU policy milestones; maintain a Foundation boilerplate for press releases
Social Media & Digital Content
• Manage the JDFoE Foundation's social media presence as it relates to the One Europe, One Market campaign, with a primary focus on LinkedIn and Bluesky
• Develop and maintain a social media content calendar aligned with the EU legislative calendar, roadshow events and key campaign moments
• Draft copy for posts, graphics briefs and short-form content; following the campaign's brand guidelines on voice and visual identity in close alignment with the Multimedia Manager
• Manage campaign-related content on the JDFoE website, including event pages, press releases and campaign updates
Internal Coordination & Strategic Input
• Support the coordination of communications activities across JDFoE Foundation units, working with the FoE Communications Manager and the JDFoE Managing Director to ensure that campaign messaging is coherent and consistently applied across all external communications
• Align day to day activities with the FoE communications manager to ensure a coherent presence in Brussels and leverage best practices and capabilities
• Contribute ideas and identify best-practice examples for communications approaches, formats and channels, feeding these into wider-team discussions
• Work closely with the Campaign Manager to align the communications calendar with the events programme and stakeholder engagement activities
• Provide communications input into event scripts, partner briefings and speaker preparation materials
PROFILE & EXPERIENCE
• Minimum 3 years of experience in communications, public affairs or media relations, with experience in European policy or institutional communications
• Proven experience managing social media channels for a policy organisation, think tank, foundation or campaign
• Strong writing and editorial skills; ability to simplify complex political or economic issues, both in writing and visually
• Excellent mastery of English; additional EU languages a significant asset given the cross-border nature of the campaign
• Experience in working with EU-focused and national media; experience pitching and placing stories with quality press and specialist EU outlets a plus
• Previous experience with Cision or similar is a must; Canva design capabilities to produce basic visuals (e.g. for social media posts) is an asset
• Proactive, highly-motivated and well-organised personality that is open to use AI-tools for greater speed and efficiency whilst maintaining an original voice
